We sang the national anthem (me, after some time..isk! ) as well as the university’s song.. I still love MMU- Permata Dunia song by one of our lecturer. The lecturers, they were all excited to welcome us.. we have only three foreigners in our class, all of them Indonesian. I was surprised that I have to take two extra subjects for pra syarat, so that means I have to enroll for 3 semesters..lamanya! but it’s ok la.

I always imagine myself doing this..so I did it! peace!

The lecturers, they are all seem very helping, pleased or energized with the new student, perhaps? Some people always get confused with mass communication program, it wasn’t just reserved about broadcasting, there’re so much more and very exciting possibilities.. SZX - HK day 4

Hi again, I know it’s all ready been delayed way too long for my vacation post. Sorry. So this is the update for day 4 and finale for our Shenzhen-HK vacation.

It was a sudden change plans that we went to Fairy Lake Botanical Garden located 10 minutes or so from our hotel room. I actually found the information about the place from the hotel’s BC, it was the word ‘fairy’ which caught our attention =D okk and here are the pictures.

The place was so huge that we had to ride on a bus to the first station – Hongfa Temple

As the day progressed, we continued to catch a train to the Windows of The World (located at the last station) ; the replica park with all the most famous wonders / heritage around the world.. you name it!

the Louvre..look so real, with the the escalators downstairs to access the center..just like in Paris!

I love Al-Hambra the most!

But I was so frustrated that we missed several sections; Japanese village, Islamic town (Taj Mahal!), Dinosour era, Firaun gallery.. There was also Parque Guëll , Gaudi's famous work beside la Sagrada Familia . Seriously rasa nak menabung untuk ' unstoppable vacation around the world'.I’ve told you this place was such colossal for one day trip, and we should have reached this place earlier!

The splendor theatre ended with fireworks show, and we loved the parade, it was so amazing and unforgettable! .. even hubby bought the performance CD =)

Yesterday was UITM new student registration day.. so off we went to Kuala Pilah, I never really thought it took us almost 2 hours.. harus bayangkan jalan Bukit Putus yang berpusing2. Still the skies seemed so promising for a day out, pantang tengok signage muzium..To tell you the truth, my sister got a second offer and she was kinda made her decision, and the decision doesn't coordinates to the destination we were heading to..haha, nak pegi tengok2 je ni..bole? =D rajin!

what’s going on?

Hi..

..hey..hey, ..and say it like Linda Perry.

I suppose not to reveal so much on these things happen lately.. hmm but today, I mean in this very moment I’m in that kind of mood. yeah, better reading with music..this is my favorite old song by Linda Perry (of 4 non blondes).. lagu tema pegi sekolah rendah naik charter =) tho she looks scary but she done amazing songs, just as beautiful as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera..now, who doesn’t know the song?

Just so you know, my class will start this July..Msc Mass Comm, which I should be finished before 2011..nanti ada yang tinggal bangi sorang2 T_T Frankly, I’m not entirely clear why did I choose this course, maybe because the university is just nearby and classes will only be held at late afternoon.. So, maybe I can go through my day doing useful things, than sleep..sleep and zzzz

Speaking about my very extra sleep ( napping in the late afternoon keep me awake at night, because the comfort cold night makes my brain more energetic =) ) I had my medical check up yesterday at Pusat Kesihatan Pelajar UKM =) eeyy..nape gembira sangat dengan UKM, student kad tak cantik siap! ..and they told me that I’m having low blood pressure! Obviously I haven’t eaten anything during the process, secretly, gembira juga turun lagi 2 kg thee hi hi.. tapi aku benci tang x-ray dan urine test..So today, I’ve done my chores..at least some exercises so that my heart can actively pumping more oxygen-filled blood =)

I’m applying for government grant, sia2 la undi kerajaan kalau tak..and only today I realized my birth cert was missing! tapi nombor cert aku ingat pulak..tapi gelabah gile ok.. lagi pula when cuz kizzy told me that I need to refer to JPN Kedah (my birth place) time2 ni la rasa nak lahir kat Selangor..

tipu je…went to JPN Kajang just now and I got my new birth cert on the dot, bahaya ok perangai2 careless macam ni! But there’s a typo on my race section, should follow the father’s but nevermind, I’m a proud kadazan-dusun juga =)


Despite all those kelam.. tomorrow will be a better day.. cuz Kizzy and Eryantie are here, waiting for our luncheon together..also, later I will drive to fetch sis khairieah for her registration day at UITM this coming Saturday..she will be doing Microbiology course. She will not only learning and improving, but will enjoy doing so =) gambate!

Sampai melaka bila matahari tegak kat kepala (kepala wka 787), sejam je sampai - adakah melaka semakin dekat dengan KL? pegi melaka ni taktau la kenapa misi mestilah mencari makanan. Maka lunch kami adalah ikan bakar area MITC..malangnya ikan tak siap bakar lagi..hmm, baiklah kami makan asam pedas (tak best)

Tujuan murni aku menemankan fizah menyiapkan kerja kat Delirious; butik laundry comel terletak di kampus MMU yang tercinta. Tapi penangan ubat selsema dan batuk yang ntah drug jenis apa la.. aku tidur weh kat kedai orang..astaga!

Petang sikit kitorang pun memulakan misi makanan seterusnya. Sebenarnya makanannye takde la sedap gile pun, tapi sentimental je yang lebih..haha. Tapi, gambar ini tak tipu popiah ni serius sedap! kalau tak makan asam pedas lunch tadi pun takpe..buat penuh perut je

ada daging2, dan paling penting tak ada taugeh!

Selepas popiah mestilah nasi lemak. Nasi lemak ni kan dah lama, dah berpindah2 tempat tapi kelazatan dia sama juga (bawa2 la tukar meja dan kerusi ) Kat sini la tempat lepak kami sehousemate (perempuan melayu terakhir) Pukul 3-4 petang je mesti datang sini..sampai sekarang kalau kata nak pegi makan nasi lemak kukus taman kerjasama, mesti yang tak dapat join akan merengek2 minta tapau (aku reka cerita sikit) tak dela merengek2, jeles2 sikit la...pegi makan nasi lemak rindu pantai dalam!

my sister (now the fashion police part timer) she has a very interesting entry today about the Shemagh; I know you know the checkered scarf hangs around the neck...So, I would like to extend this issue.

The Keffiyeh scarf, because it sounds better than Shemagh, has cultural and political significance (a picture of Yassir Arafat now) also a symbol of Palestinian nationalism. But the scarf has been in and out of fashion trends for ages in Europe and Asia( tak panas ke?)

The traditional wear of the Keffiyeh is to protect mouth/nose/eyes from the desert condition, and yes you can imagine many practical reasons to wear the scarf. I personally think no one can wear it good but the middle eastern militaries because the innocent use of Keffiyeh as its symbol of jihad.

..reminds me my previous entry, picture captured form Majalah 3 special covers on Gaza war.

So what did you do to deserve Keffiyeh? Ok I know I get emotional now..

I’m not a big fan of beaches, I prefer more sightseeing places. Sunset, as you know it, where the sky changes its colors to the orangy-red hues..and the setting of the sun, so does my mood

=( I’m not a romantic one? Di kala senja melabuhkan tirainya, hatiku merasa sayu. FINE. So, yeah I don’t have to wait all day to see the sunset (hence the bright sun- photo shoot? )

SZX-HK: Day 3

Due to strict immigration; filling up forms, long queue, not to mention our precious time taken for correction of particulars wrongly written on my sister’s passport, We managed to hop on the

train and arrived at East Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon) only after 10am, and we were an hour behind the schedule. I was thrilled to hear people picked up the phone; “weii..” macam drama TVB!

From East Tsim Sha Tsui, we changed direction to Tsim Sha Tsui to Central (HK mainland) The station exit lead us to the Statue Square (not into my liking) of Sir Thomas Jackson, the former chief manager of HSBC; Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation.

The Legislative Council located just nearby (Chater Road), alongside were HSBC headquarters, the Mandarin Oriental, etc. HK is an amazing place indeed, modern, busy but efficient.

We walked along Garden Road (for 10 mins or so) passing St. John’s Cathedral to the Peak Tram station. While waiting in the queue, we were actually enjoying the historical gallery of memorabilia exhibited of HK 19/20th century.

Onboard, I was somewhat scared by its 45 degrees angle leaning, climb 373 metres!

The 8 minutes ride took us to the Peak Tower...

We continued to Causeway Bay and this where the real adventure of HK began! Hehe, it was already 3 pm and we haven’t eaten anything since breakfast. The roads were so confusing until we met Indonesian lady and lead us to Masjid Ammar and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre. Not so lucky we were, the canteen was almost close and we only had light menu..aku dah tak selera sebab penat. I caught by this interesting tajuk ceramah at the notice board ; Muslim or Christian: Who is the faithful follower of Jesus?

The famous Kowloon Mosque (where Indonesian domestic workers made the crowd) located very next to Tsim Sha Tsui station and the Kowloon Park, small version of New York’s Central Park. We spent some time at the HK Heritage Discovery Centre. I found it as a unique exhibition hall, explained me very well (after reading the exhibit) on HK archeological and built heritage. Remember my previous post about the border river between Shenzhen and HK? The plan, creating a mega-city by merging Shenzhen-Hong Kong by 2047…. Ok, this might sound uneducated but, serius sungai tu kecil, cantum je la..huhu.. It seems the plans is now became a crucial issue for China (bila aku google2 balik..hmmm)

I love museum but the time was very limited and the day has turned to dusk.. Even so, I might be regret if I never visit the fantastic HK Museum of History.., OMG, it was a remarkable place, constructed at cost of HK$ 390m.. and I lost words to describe.. BEST GILE..jauh juga la berjalan masa ni, kesian ayah.

And there we were at the Avenue of Stars waiting for the Symphony of Lights; the every night light and laser shows. Frankly, the show wasn’t quite as spectacular as expected, fairly entertaining..maybe because of our stand location. Only tonight I found the video on You Tube.

The video just made me miss HK and our vacation.

We had seafood course dinner at Tanjung Lumpur, whatever the name is, it's the foods that matters : ) .. kontraktor memang suka belanja. No picture.. nanti kantoi blogging.

I apologize for the wrong info, it's Kuantan Megamall not Kuantan Parade. Anyway, I finally found the Adidas Finale Roma ball..been looking for it after some interesting facts about it on tv. It's quite a surprise, but sports channel became my channel-on-list nowadays : )

SZX - HK visit : Day 2

When we were in China, we brought most of our food…to be safe and SAVE :)

Me and hubby went again to the airport to fetch my sister by bus from the Commercial Centre. The flight arrival was scheduled at 12:35pm, but as mentioned earlier the strict immigration we only met at 2:30pm

As we reached hotel, ayah was very happy to have her after his anxiousness for her unaccompanied travel, ayah is always worry about uncertain matter! Ya Allah.. But knowing that she could converse in Mandarin, at least it was a big relief, at least she’s lucky than me!

So, off we went out to discover around Shenzhen for the first time as per our itinerary. Shenzhen, situated immediately north of Hong Kong, bordered by Sham Chun river (I have some, very interesting fact about this, but only later..) Shenzhen is only 35 years old in development, and became China’s first and ultimate most successful Special Economic Zone, and I’ve gotta agree with this report because seriously, seeing the rock jungle shook my imagination. I thought Shenzhen could never be compare with Beijing but, maybe because HK as its contiguous factor. Typically him, spending time observing the highway system, dengan lusciousnye! ..apa lagi conference Shenzhen la pula abg..huhu

The Shenzhen Metro system (MTR) was the focal transportation, and today we were scheduled for a visit to the Windows of The World. Like KL Sentral, LuoHu (or Lo Wu for cantonese) LuoHu Commercial Centre, the urban centre for transit and major transportation services; Inter-city buses, railway for long distance travel around China (I would love to extend my itinerary to Guangzhou!), train and immigration control point to HK, and of course taxis ( with receipts. Windows of The World, is a replica park (for famous buidings / heritage around the world) situated 13 stations away, but it was already 4:30 pm, we cancelled the trip! and planned it to another day. Sedih la.. tak sempat. I suggested a returns back to the main station..tapi takpe, untuk mengubati hati, we went to the Commercial City! I knew my sisters just love this idea to death..haha.. LuoHu Commercial City is a mall of 5 stories tall and well-known for its bargain (dah google siap2) AKU TERER MEMBARGAIN, WEH!!

SZX-HK visit : Day 1

How early should we arrive at the airport before our schedules departure? I never experience a comfy time, walking gracefully and pulling luggage with smile. NO. Semuanya adalah ribut, kalut dan kecoh!

Upon arriving at LCC terminal for our flight to Shenzhen, I saw the completed construction area for international departure, and not to my imagination; it was hard to find people wearing mask..selamba je pun??. This moment I knew I would be aside from a few rare paranoia people T_T

After check-in, I quickly ran to the new opened Oldtown at the terminal and yes I bought some bread which were overlooked from our own packed food to China. ( Hi..saya beli sebungkus roti di Oldtown) sounds lame, but with favorable chance orang tu kasi juga. Caya lah Oldtown! Huhu

At 5:30 pm (flight delay macam biasa) we took off on our flight for Shenzhen.. , and after 3 hrs 55 mins we arrived at Boa’an International Airport. ..

Poyo2 je pakai mask kan, time makan tu makan juga..lapar, beb! adik aku tuh macam terpaksa menerima arahan je :D

.. and spent about 2 hours for the famous strict and hassle China immigration, and medical check (for H1N1)..tiba2 la kepala nak panas time ni kan.. hubby cakap letak kepala kat aircond :D make sense! Hmm.., yes my luggage was opened for inspection..ya Allah, kecoh! (Hi bra saya colorful! )

We found no train system from the airport to the commercial city.. but the provided bus shuttle. It was already after 11pm so we decided for taxi..tapi dapat prebet sapu mana ntah, cinabeng betul..tapi selesa juga..drove us to Muslim Hotel, LuoHu. I slept tiredly for tomorrow early out and return to the airport again to fetch Khairunie.

p/s the receptionist lady..huhu ‘english’ dia comel sampai kitorang tak faham.
