my sewing project - retro blouse

Yesterday was the last day for MJ- This Is It screening. Thanks to my last minute decision, we made it..and I appreciate every cents minutes of this so called footage for MJ scheduled concert.

I caught MJ sucking on a little lollipop. comel =)

So anyone have watched this movie, wants the concert to be happen..memang rasa nak pegi la! beli DVD je la kot..London jauh.

"OK. Do one more time, that's why we have rehearsal" - MJ.. he got what he deserved from a sheer hard work. Semua orang rajin la dalam concert tu.

Ok let's move.. this is my new sewing project which I concluded as simple project, but nice output.

I match with white belt, for the tiered ruffle blouse effect.
Feeling barbie haha

Tapi agak mencabar juga jahit kain lembik2 ni..kain dia lari2, isk! I sewed tshirt fabric at the bottom, kasi dia berat sikit.

I took a long time with fabrics, Macam kain ni kalau tengah bergulung dalam kedai, macam kelakar bulat2.. tapi end up OK la kan??

en route to Makkah

As promised, here're some pictures from the 'en route to Makkah' exhibition at the Islamic Arts museum, Taman Tasik Perdana.

Mengapakah muzium kita ni, kurang usaha untuk mewujudkan keadaan yang orang rasa muzium tu best. I'm a fan of museums, but seriously a museum should have more than just reading materials..come on, be creative!

The RM24 tix for two, I didn't think it was worth it (Hong Kong Historical museum punya tix adalah RM5 dan best rasa tak nak keluar) OK, this is my second visit after last year btw. Pegi juga walaupun, see..I'm truly a fan of museum!

My previous comment from last year visit..hehe

'Tapi boring sikit la pameran ni because they expect us to read all the stuff. I wish that diorang ni rajin sikit. My suggestion, kurangkan karangan..banyak kan benda untuk di lihat. Sangat tidak berpuas hati kerana kita di larang mengambil gambar..hey, tak sempat la nak baca semua..Sedih tak dapat ambil gambar contoh kotak make up zaman dulu..its very nice, you know!'

But we should give credit for this exhibition.

"Memegang kalam memancarkan dakwat, Mulut membaca tangan menyurat,

and among the famous faces who have traveled to Makkah ;

my sewing project - tiered skirt

I made it! and it took only 2 hours sewing this skirt. Far better than the difficulty of getting one that suits my taste, and of course the right color - I'm color-conscious!

What do you think? Ok la kan for a beginner =)

Semalam pegi Islamic Arts museum, I'll blog about it next.

how about this one, kathrina khairina?

the lace (or whatever the name is) made it so Somerset Bay!

P/S tengah berfikir antara BB or E71, but I think this pic has answered me!

Korea : Day 5 Palace exploration

Wherever I go, I'll get excited about subways. I think it's cool to play with the map..imagine several branch lines that connect to the subway system heh..It can be tiring, but it's fun!

multi level subway systems

But this time, we jumped a bus up to the Gyeongbokgung palace. Tho we've been told that there's subway station nearby but yup, always choose the cheapest!

There are five grand palaces in Seoul built within the Joseon Dynasty; Changdekgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, Gyeongbokgung, and Gyeonghuigung. Ok you don't have to be Korean to pronounce this correctly

anyway, 'gung' mean palace. And we went to two of the palaces.

OTW =)

Gyeongbokgung palace is a royal palace located in northern Seoul. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace. "Gyeongbokgung," translates in English as "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven."- wiki

like the changing of the guards at the Buchingham Palace, Gyeongbukgung palace have their's two times daily.

Us at Geunjeongmun (Gate) and Yeongjegyo (Bridge), and the beginning of 5 hours palace exploration. No kidding!

wanna add more weight? try this.

Us at the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, hall used to hold important and special state banquets.

merah!

This palace complex covers huge area, and every building / hall used as special purpose like the the king and queen sleeping and living quarters, a place for the king granted audiences or gave declarations of national importance..,

there's also private library hall, or for executive office.. haa, in case you're wondering how's the decorating style,

Korean or Japanese or Chinese deco that I can't tell apart .. seriously macam yang di Forbidden City, Beijing.

So, photoshoots

sempat juga berkelah2 dalam tu tau..

ok next..

Hyangwonjeong Pavilion - constructed on an artificial island of a lake named Hyangwonji, The name Hyangwonjeong loosely translates as "Pavilion of Far-Reaching Fragrance," while "Chwihyanggyo" translates as "Bridge Intoxicated with Fragrance - wiki

Of everything, this is my favorite spot. So artistic!

wow!

if only =)

Added one hour extra to the National Folk museum nearby. The museum illustrates;
the history of the Korean people from pre-historic times ,
the lifestyle of the Korean people,
and the lifecycle of a Korean from birth to death.

the outdoor exhibition juga ada..rajin!!

runaway train never going back~

tengok..sangat convinient kan? jumpa ni kat subway.

I just curious if we ever had such palace complex? but I know this old Terengganu palace- Pura Tanjung Sabtu.

jom tengok www.puratanjungsabtu.com

Korea : Day 4 - Korean Demilitarized Zone

DMZ - the Korean Demilitarized Zone, serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, or better known as the 'border' , urmm u know about the north-south Korea conflict. Some say, birds can fly and cross the border but not the people.

one of the border spot is Imjingak

this sounds ridiculous but, when I looked again this pic somehow I felt uneasy - why I didn't bother to know who's statue is this

facing the south Korea.. and the north Korea at one time =)

We continued for luncheon at a restaurant in Itaewon City . Do you know that Itae mean 'foreign' . So this place is a place for foreigners!

Look what we found.. tak la, sebenarnya it's Wazwan =D We lunched in here..nyummy la..maybe lapar sebab it was cold and breezy

..and performed solat at a nearby mosque..they constructed the complex like the one in Uzbekistan, also it's the place for Muslim society/group in Korea.

tengah minum teh tarik =P

inside

We continued the day to the famous shopping places, Dong daemun and Myong dong.. me and hubby didn't buy any .. penat takda mood ..

love pink, but not this one.. it doesn't suit with my small frame

at the square

eh tipu je.. ok I bought one tshirt from HRC. ..HRC Seoul is closing down..macam tak percaya kan

Korea : Day 3 National Museum of Korea and the Folk Village

This time around, hubby finally had a chance to join a tour. And this one called Cultural Tour =D

It was our last day in Incheon (before headed to Seoul) , the cultural tour was meant to be in Seoul and it took us almost 2 hours by bus.. So it was like Incheon - Seoul - Incheon..

So excuse my complaints : dah la luggage hilang, itinerary pun pelik2 =|

Anyway,

Welcome to the National Museum of Korea!

besar tak besar la kan

To design this building, the Korean government held an international competition open to architects around the world to submit a proposal for the new building. There were over 854 entries from 59 countries. The winning design was inspired by the idea of a traditional Korean fortress - wiki

Memang besar dan mengujakan, but sayangnya we didn't have much time to cover all areas =(

The Stele for Buddhist Preceptor Wollang - records the life of Buddhist preceptor named Wollang (816 - 883)

Buddhist stone ..stone isn't? or carve? my bad, I'm not sure the appropriate word. Or maybe I'm thinking of stupas, sculpture? why do I care so much?

Do you notice that every Buddhist stone sculptures are different? lain tau muka diorang.. round eyes, sepet eyes..heh, I just noticed!

the golden crown, must cause a potential headache

very cute toothbrush holder!

ok bye bye museum

ahn nyeong ha se yo!

We continued to the Namsan Hanok village, reproduction of a Korean Folk Village. The village is composed of a traditional Korean garden and five traditional Korean houses from the Choson Dynasty.

There is also a cultural crafts shop

at a corner

she was chasing her sister / friend, tapi sempat lagi bagi special pose

Wrapped up the day with dinner at the Evergreen, the Indian cuisine.. sambil tengok konsert MJ lagi =D

oh ya, in case you are wondering ..

petrol station

tollgate

Korea : Day 2 Chinatown

You knew about my lost luggage issue, right? I lost my precious luggage ( with four pair of shoes inside!) and it was so lame that I cried ..hmmm..- do not imagine that okk. buruk =D

The tour agent promised for RM500 (only ) compensation. sedihnya. But at last I found it myself, salah hantar bilik rupanya..isk

So dengan semangat baru, I went out to the China Town.. a location I didn't really plan on, tiba2 nampak dalam peta.

But it really turned out to be a lovely day =)

the Chinatown was quite far from our hotel in Incheon. Hmm, kalau dari LRT nak kena tukar komuter tu macam jauh la kan..

kalau kat Incheon nampak orang muda2 saja, stylo2..sampai sini kebanyakkan orang tua =D

Chinatown was the busiest spot in Korea until 1950's, constructed in 1800's and the remnants of history can still be seen.

This place reminds me of Jonker walk, Melaka..only that it's cold and breezy =)

my favorite

roses..roses..roses..roses..
ok!

cultural buildings with garden
the former Japanese building

I wish I could spend some more time here - the breezy air, the cafes and flowers, the fresh colorful fruits - smell so good!

I failed the steps, sebab teringat masa kat China Wall semput T_T . This stair is the boundary between Japanese settlement and Qing Dynasty settlement (Chinese). Kindly notice the lights at left and right are different in design!
