Rome : Day1 and the Colosseum

See my husband and I still talking about our lovely Italian room in Rome. It was a bed and breakfast (bb)located just 5-6 minutes of walking from Rome main station, Roma Termini. Thanks tripAdvisor, ok lepas ni I pula kena contribute informations =P The bb was wonderful, located at a strategic location just in front of Teatro dell'Opera, ada carrefour express lagi depan tu, 3-4 halal shops. The room was all neat and clean, the toilet was spotless. Breakfast je boring sikit sebab makan bread, cereal, fruits etc je.. Bagilah pasta ke..or pasta is too heavy for breakfast? Nasi lemak then? =)

Got this room at promo price..that's why kena pegi jalan time winter ni. Semua turun harga. Can you believe our Ryanair flight ticket to Rome adalah GBP 12.90 hehe. Bargain! Summer nanti semua melambunglah.. Oh check this out! Elevator comel

We took a 48 hours of hop on hop off bus tour (EUR17) Yeah I know it was very touristy but that doesn't take anything from the charm of enjoying Rome atmospehre from the open upper deck bus. The weather was very nice at 15 degree, matahari pun terang gave an extra stars to all of my photos. For day1, we had Colosseo, the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. Banyak sangat gambar nih.. I might want to part them in entries..

Anyway...handsome tak Aariz..bukan main lagi tau budak kecik ni..

Roma Termini- the main transportation hub. Ada busses, city trains, metro etc. Ingat tak last post dalam train? That was Eurostar yang laju gila..berdengunglah telingaku ini. The metro ticket harganya biasalah 1EUR up to 3 or 5 stations, which I think same goes to other europe cities. The city/regional train cost quite cheap, orang kata Italian transportation antara termurah. Eurostar tu memang mahal sebab dia sangatlah selesa macam kapal terbang. Guess what? We got the previlege for free! haha. Our train was delayed for 70 minutes and only to know that dia upgraded to Eurostar rasa best gile =)

Ok now Roma Roma..

I didn't plan any museum visit , unless we have an extra day, because the city itself is a museum! Macam nilah pemandangan dimana-mana pun. Nice huh?

Our first stop was the magnificent Colloseum! Sebelum pegi Rome we all siap tengook Youtube lagi about this Roman amphitheatre. Originally known as Flavian Amphitheatre, built in Flavian dynasty by the emperor Vespasian in AD 72, but later completed by his son Titus in AD 80 . 8 tahun sahaja ok the period of construction.

Rome was built on seven hills. Talking about hills, here's tips on how to skip the horrible long Colosseum ticket que. Thanks to Poalo, our bb host on his advice.  It could take 2 hours to purchase the ticket but we skipped the line by purchasing the ticket at another counter ( at the Palatin Hills counter). The ticket to Colloseo can also be use for entering The Forum and the Palatin Hills.  Kesiannya orang yang tidak tahu.

In 2011, Diego Della Valle founder of Tod's shoe firm sponsored a €25 million restoration of the Colosseum. Anak beranak Vespasian and Titus must thank him for giving such fortune hehe
