South Devon trip : Riviera Bay Holiday Park

I've stumbled upon this holiday site, I guess, about 3 months ago. Promo price at 65pounds for 3 nights stay, who can resist? Murah lagi dari Tiara beach PD tu kot =P So I asked hubs, I mean, I really wanted it because it was on his birthday. Checked on his study timetable, free je ni..and voila!

I was so looking forward for a holiday park because, it's a self catering where you can cook plus they have entertainment facilities for kids. Well, I like that. So I googled about this park (beli dulu baru google is no no!). Found too many bad reviews, none positive comments. Erk.. dah murah, I didn't put high expectation despite their 'marketing' photos on the website. Maybe it was cheaper for a reason. But let the photos do the talking =)

Remember the last stop at Tintagel? It took us another 2 hours to reach Brixham. Brixham is a lovely place. It has a small port/harbour and what I can say as, 'when the life is on a slow pace'. Everything was wonderful and peaceful. Even the people were friendlier. I felt much comfortable there than in Europe (for a reason that I shouln't say here..you can guess it). We arrived at our chalet at 9ish pm. I quickly made a spagetti for dinner. Solat, tengok TV kejap and dozed off till the segulls woke us up in the morning =) How lovely was that?

Morning! English breakfast made easy =)

Aariz playing with the seagulls infront of our chalet

there was an access to the near bay, a short walk masuk ala-ala hutan ni

and the view! St. Margaret bay. Some chalet has the privilege of this view straight  from their window

the park also has a heated pool

his first time hehe..menjerit suka =)

entertainment area for kids..singing and dancing activities programme for families..

nampak laut  hujung sana tu..

Obviously one happy boy =)

South Devon trip : Atlantic highway to Tintagel

Atlantic highway is one of the best scenic route in UK. As it follows the line of the coast between Barnstaple to Newquay in North Devon/Cornwall, features hills and costal scenery. I purposely proposed this route to my husband because I knew he'd like it there (and love the name!).

To the north is The Midlands (Birmingham)  we were going to Plymouth (for Brixham, our holiday park) via Atlantic highway..melencong sikitlah..hence we made it as 5 hours journey fuh! But again, for what it's worth. We passed through Bristol to Tiverton, to Barnstaple which the Atlantic highway begins in Cornwall. I know to many places mentioned here..but hey! Saya suka bermain dengan nama tempat. We even passed by a town named Westward Ho! - the only place name contains with exclaimation mark =)

The Atlantic highway is between Barnstaple to Newquay, but we only made it half until Tintagel that famous known as King Arthur's village, dah berangan ke sana but little did we know it only opens in weekend for this season.

River Taw at Barnstaple (a key port centuries ago..still nampaklah sikit2) and all the while the twinkling from the sea was on our right. Excited, tak sabar! Haha sebenarnya jalan dia pusing2 macam Bukit Putus @_@ Berkat kesabaran mengharungi jalan ini, thanks to spectacular views ; countryside, woods, farmland, and we reached a bay holiday park with masyAllah superb scenery. We didn't plan at all to came here, tiba-tiba tersampai...I don't know maybe rezeki nak bagi tengok ni..

this is how a holiday homes look like..very cosy, and pricey too!

Apalah perasaan bangun pagi dan melihat bay cantik ni..bestnya. Luckily those two homes masa tu  unoccupied, we had our lovely time there appreciating the scenery =)

So that was Tintagel, we continued the journey to Brixham, our holiday park. It was a chalet (erk, more like a terrace house) I want to make full review on this park, in case someone is searching for its info. Despite many bad comments  / reviews I found on this park. But honestly (as luck may have it?) we actually had a lovely stay at the park. With full kitchenette we got, sampai2 saja terus masak..spagetti lagi =)

Next entry..

A holiday park with bay view! Nun dihujung sana. Surprised we got it too!

Just so you know it was my husband's birthday last weekend. We've decided south Devon as the gateway (not a surprise tho..I'm so not a romantic material sigh!) and just came back from the beautiful place..masyaAllah it was a trip to remember. Love it as much as I love the south Spain. Here's Aariz at the Durdle door, Jurassic coast at Lulworth. More of interesting and breath taking photos I would like to share. Trip to Oxford

It was a university trip again! So why do we like this university trip so much? Because it's a day trip (tak perlu bersusah-susah book hotel), provides a service coach right to the place, and of course it's cheaper! The places offered in the package pun best. In weekend pula tu..so yeah, what we do in weekend.
It was a day trip to Oxford. Well, to all Harry Potter fans  this is the chance to soak up in Hogwart's atmosphere. Because all colleges are scattered around the town, so I chose only those appeared in Harry Potter scenes sajalah =P

Dangg! The library (Bodelain) and the Great Hall (Christ Church college) were closed! Frust sangat =( The Great Hall was closed due to a parents-college programme that was held on that very day =(

On our way to Christ Church college, we stopped at this lovely Alice's shop. Alice in Wonderland was inspired and written by Lewis Carroll, who studied and lived in Christ Church college.

 Christ Church college

The scene when Harry and the new first years student greeted by Professor McGonagall was shot on this 16th century staircase which leads up to the Great Hall.

After Christ Church we moved on to the Bodelain library, walking through the town, and had our lunch (bekalan nasi goreng!) near the Redcliffe camera (camera is another name for room)

There was an exhibition near library that rather interesting! The Romance of the middle age. The literature from those midieval time from Greek, Latin, Arab.. just to name a few. Cantik betul buku tulisan tangan dengan gold ink lagi. I wish I can snap a photo, so precious! But no camera allowed. Banyak betul frustration hari tu tau.

The Bridge of Sigh, Oxford version. Have you seen the one in Cambridge? It  is on a river!
Now, where's Aariz?

Mengigau senyum =) =) Despite my frustration..comel je dia senyum

The last point was to the New college, having originally been founded in 1379. Not that new huh? It was hard to find the 'famous tree' sebab sangatlah tersorok. So here's the New College cloisters that notably in scene which Draco Malfoy was transformed into a ferret by Mad-Eye Moody. Ingat tak?

And it was 5PM, time to go back. We walked by the Thames river..
