lunch picnic at the Black Country open museum

Soon after Eryantie told me that she's coming to UK, we've been planning a trip to this open museum located in Dudley. Not very far from our house so it meant for a day trip, and a picnic trip yay!

Black Country got its name as an industrial region in the midland of England. Their industries includes coal, iron, steel, glass.. and some that you can imagine. So this open museum giving a tribute to the traditional lives, memang hidup betul tempat ni. Yang bestnya most of the buildings are original and relocated from their original sites.

Kalau sebelum ni tengok yang lavish je, palaces and castles, now jom tengok the life of the ordinary people in the early 20th century..

Midlands..that's our place...to Worcester via Bromsgrove, I think it's quite far.

We had a chance to see their cottage with vege garden, and their living quaters. Middle class family rumah kecil tapi ramai anak..while yang posh pula anak dua je..

 at the back kitchen

This place is real. I asked them and they told me their stories ; the housewives, the glass maker, the tailor, the chemist .. memang feel la kat sini. The citizen visitors tu I think they were reminscing their old times ..

and we walked to their town, hopped on the tram ride..

So, we had picnic lunch..letih jugalah mengejar Aariz berlari2 kan..he was very happy enjoying the view and the sun. Kalau duk kat oversea ni memang happy sangat dapat matahari =)

After lunch, we continued again to the other part of the town, which has their schools, chapel and of coz more shops..

school children and their teacher.
taktaulah kalau budak2 ni semua berlakon on that day..rasa macam kitorang pula ter 'back to the past'.

more shops

Eryantie at a drug store. Orang ni cakap, those days botol perfume mahal, orang refill kalau nak beli.

Us infront of hygine shop..tengok la bath tub tu hehe

Oh did I mention about coal? Oh we went down a tunnel, joined the racecourse colliery. It was dark, narrow-gauge and such that we bent our knee most of time inside there. It wasn't the first time for me, had this experience in Beijing and Padang Indonesia. Tapi yang tu lebih kepada pertahanan, but this time we learnt about their limestone mine industries. Man, everyone was working hard for living..can't imagine that =(  Baru masuk 40 minit pun dah rasa sesak nafas. Aariz was sleeping all the way.

So we knew, the Black Country was one of the most heavily industrilised area in Britain (and pollution, I believe) Kalau nak maju semua orang kenalah kerja keras..eh tiba2 kesimpulan =)

Diari Bergambar Aariz : the day i went to school

Every morning, when all the kids in the hood are passing by our house, I know they're after the most exciting place in this world - school! Early one morning, like reading my mind, mummy told me that we were going to join them. I was that excited that I insisted to walk by myself..

It wasn' t very far from our house.. it's ok to let mummy watch me. I was so having a carefree time that it took some leisure walk to reach school. Sometimes I turned to wrongside block hee..

ahh.. I made it.

Yeah..I always play my heart out. And then I got a chance to make cupcake for daddy on his special day Happy Father's day daddy!

And came to house daddy made my favorite jacket potato .. I had a lovely day =)

Susuibu sehingga tempoh dua tahun menurut al Quran

Breast milk is the drop from heaven. Here is the beautiful surah Luqman translation which tells us to give our child the perfect nutrition until he is 2.

14. And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination.

SadaqAllah hul azim..

Congratulations all mommies for striving giving breastmilk =) Picture taken at grand mosque Paris

Istanbul; Sultanahmet square and Solat at Blue Mosque

A nice long day we had on our day2 in Istanbul. To recall, we visited the Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern earlier and continued to the Blue Mosque after luncheon, and finally wrapped up the day at the Taksim square. Lucky that we stayed in Sultanahmet area, the oldest part of Istanbul. Sultanahmet, the location of most of its historical part, I mean the only city in this world that has all of its main touristic sites in one place. Believe me.

I was looking at them..my husband said, 'kembar 40'

There should be a fountain here but due to construction. As seen is the Blue Mosque.

From my previous post, I declared Sultanahmet as 'crowded', yes it is! The tourists were admiring the sight, local people were having their time with friends and families, and also the traders. You can imagine that. But deeper insight, I should call this place as 'magical'. Sultanahmet was declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 because it is the only old city still-inhabited spot, dating back 8000 years ago! Now remember Basilica Cistern? It is seriously underneath my feet.

So on day 2, we haven't really found the 'best' (read: sedap dan murah) place to eat but finally settled at this restaurant located at Sultanahmet square. I think the price was oklah

Meat, patata (potato) and coleslow , 13TL. Turkish suka tomato and chilli

In front of the restaurant, still at Sultanahmet square. I like this place at night, sebab ada aura2 romantik gitu ..erk since when that I became a romantic material?

my little explorer, little traveler

Aariz was chasing his friends, hehe..while I was admiring the place. I usually watch videos on youtube before I come to a place, and that makes me appreciate the place more. As seen at behind Aariz is the German fountain.

Gazebo like fountain constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperor' s visit to Istanbul in 1898. It has golden mosaics.

Now at this very place where we stand now  was actually the place of Byzantine Hippodrome Forum. Mulanya kami pun tercari-cari, because I was imagining something big like the colosseo in Rome. The Hippodrome Forum was the sporting and social centre ..just like the colosseo in Rome. Itu dulu..dah ruin la of coz, so inilah tinggalannya, now hanyalah Sultanahmet square..

the obelisk.. three of them but I don't fancy to upload more obelisk in my blog.

From picture above, to the left was the gate to the Blue Mosque =) the most awaited part of the day. Gambar banyak ye..

Ablution area.

kadang-kadang saya rasa macam ..erm 'comel' bila tourist lain take photograph of us doing ablution kan? Sebahagian daripada rukun yang istimewa.

pili air macam tutup celak mekah kan?

Sultan Ahmad mosque, the last great mosque constructed of the Ottoman era. Known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue mosaic/tiles..

Beautiful..

Istanbul ni azan bersahut-sahutan. Istanbul has mosque in every 200 metres (reminds me of Padang, Indonesia).

Alhamdulillah, dapat habiskan satu surah pendek di Masjid Biru.

 after solat

 ablution area at courtyard

the other tourists can enter any active mosque, but not during prayer times. The Pope Benedict XVI visited Blue Mosque in 2006
