Ramadhan 2012

We had the experience fasting abroad when we were in Paris, 2007. And this year again celebrating Ramadhan (and Eid) away from Malaysia. Fasting for 19 hours in summer, imsak 330 am and maghrib 910 pm, surely a highlight huhu (at least for me)

Anyway, I promised myself to khatam Quran this Ramadhan. You know when you reach the last three surah, it 's like the pinaccle of all. Rasa puas sangat. Syukur. So how can I achieve such? Thanks to Majlis Ilmu Wanita Birmingham for tadarus ceremony held every day, we divided the group according to location and rotate from house to house. Isn't that lovely?

ehemm..acara tambahan, acara masak-masak.
We're making tiramisu..oh so senang! Almost nothing I can teach everyone haaha

I should be proud of myself, I can make kuih now! Memang respectlah makcik jual kuih..

beger Malaysia, kuih Puteri Ayu, koci, lepat pisang =)  =)

And the kids? What they do?

play!

Diary Bergambar Aariz : I'm a farm boy

It's been a busy time, hasn't it? Mummy is preparing berbuka dishes, so let me update you my story.

On my birthday, we went to the place that I'm most looking forward to.

Farmyard! I love to see all the animals up close.

As many of you know, I like ducks..so much that I ran off and chased them. But they weren't that friendly, unlike sheep. ..

Eager sheep, don't they?

Mummy asked me if I want to ride on a pony, well, they all look nice and friendly but mummy..maybe next time around =) By the way, this is George the horse. I don't know if horses are always big like George.

Hey that's me at the garden!

and play is more than fun..

Don't worry, I washed my hands before heading home.

Mummy, when can we go again?

trip to the Lake District : Ullswater via Kirkstone Pass

We had three wonderful days in the Lake District; staying at a small cottage in the heart of Windermere town, cruised on the Windermere lake, picnicked at Coniston, visited two of Beatrix's farmhouses..hmmm definitely a trip to remember.

On our last day we decided to go to the Ullswater, the second largest lake in the English Lake District. We drove for half an hour towards the Kirkstone Pass via The Struggle.

 The Struggle

to its name, The Struggle, slow and extra careful drive

We stopped and parked our car at Kirkstone Pass Inn, and spent a little time to have the marvellous view of what we had left behind.

We are now at the summit pass that open for public traffic

jeles ok tengok orang on the walking trail..so adventurous la mereka!
..and continued on toward the Ullswater

Ullswater ..

Aariz and swans at Ullswater..oh Aariz berani sangat!

Good bye Lake District..
and we drove down south to Blackpool.

trip to the Lake District : I left my heart in Bowness-on-Windermere

Yes, Bowness-on-Windermere is Love. I like everything about the town. It is so tranquil that we didn't mind getting lost. We walked and smiled ..everything seemed so beautiful.

After visiting the World of Beatrix Potter, we wandered a bit to find a cafe because I wanted cream teas. And finally we settled down at a small cafe just opposite the main road.

 Lake Windermere

We had our picnic lunch here before moved on to Ullswater.

trip to the Lake District : Aariz meeting Peter (again!)

It was our last day in Windermere. Hubby made our breakfast - mee goreng mamak. We had our breakfast at the patio. The weather was just fine ( if it isn't raining, it is consider as 'fine' -  so much for British summer yeah)

The World of Beatrix Potter is the main attraction in Bownese-on- Windermere. So much so, that we went again for the second time. It was for Aariz, and for the mummy too =) Seronok tempat ni. It's like a magical indoor attraction, where all the animal characters in 23 tales by Beatrix Potter brought to life complete with sounds and sight. Kita macam menyusuri satu kisah cerita kanak-kanak. Tak rasa rugilah pegi tempat ni.

It was snowing heavily when we first came here, so we skipped the outdoor garden. And finally this time we had a chance to stroll around Mr McGregor's garden ( featured in one of her book - the Tale of Peter Rabbit) . Yang istimewanya, all plants are from the tales. Oh so wonderful!

Peter rabbit's jacket he left at Mr McGregor's garden hehe
